The county also gained key steps in returning the community to a Constitutionally focused correctional center that was overdue and key agreement with the City of Bloomington towards completing the Convention Center, which is now under construction. While state interference in local funding has created a serious roadblocks, Trent continues to advocate for keeping stakeholders in the room and talking through solutions on location and funding options. Through it all, Trent has been a consistent voice in calling out wrongs and injustices brought about by continued federal and state encroachments on Monroe County lives.

Now, in this crucial time, when experienced leaders and listeners are needed now more than ever, Trent is running for Monroe County Commissioner, District 1, in the 2026 Mid-Term Election.
